The StopAlong is a neighborhood spot for the kid in all of us, offering pizza, burgers, a full bar, and other good stuff, in a fun & friendly environment.

The StopAlong opened in August 2016, providing the neighborhood with a casual, throwback pizzeria and bar just steps from the 606. The playful and nostalgic atmosphere of The StopAlong harkens back to childhood and puts a smile on the face of young and old alike. We serve the best NY-style, thin crust pizza & griddled burgers around. Everything is made from scratch daily using only high-quality, fresh ingredients. We also offer a nice selection of craft (and cheap) beer, wine and cocktails.

The family-friendly restaurant channels vintage ‘80s and '90s pop culture throughout the space with bright colors, arcade games, and a collection of retro toys, lunch boxes, and action figures. Comic book style artwork hangs on the walls featuring pop culture characters like Superman and Darth Vader. Classic arcade games like Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, and Super Mario Bros can be found in the back game room, and Transformers and Ninja Turtles are other frequent character staples in the interior decor.

The StopAlong Logan Square opened in June 2023 in the former Boiler Room space in Logan Square, just steps from the California Blue Line stop. The StopAlong Logan Square brings the same StopAlong favorites and playful vibe to a larger space in a great location, perfect for bigger group gatherings. Chicago's best burger -- from dive bars to fancy hotels, one reporter tries 71 in search of excellence

According to owner, Taylor Hammond, The Stop Along's burger is modeled on California's In-N-Out burger. Specifically, that chain's semi-secret double-double animal-style, where the two patties are squirted with mustard while on the griddle and topped with lots of caramelized onions. Not only does it remind me of the West Coast's favorite fast food burger, I think it's better. The cooks smash the pucks of beef on the griddle, lending them a stunning sear that In-N-Out could only dream of reproducing.

Best Thin-Crust Pizza in Chicago

In Bucktown, this ‘80s pop-culture pizza stop is very family-friendly with arcades to help pass the time as you wait for you pizza. New York-style pizza is their specialty. Build your own or simply pick a pie while enjoying some of their popular cocktails and great craft beer selection.

The 20 best burgers in Chicago

This Wicker Park restaurant utilizes the slightly misleading tagline "Pizza & Stuff." You see, we consider the fan-favorite Stop-In burger to be more than just "stuff." The double cheeseburger is a masterpiece worthy of the marquee treatment. The caramelized onions are jammy, the pickles zingy, the thousand island dressing creamy and the brioche bun pillowy. It's a fine specimen that easily rivals the city's top oldies.

The Stop Along

As good as the pizza is the burger might be better. I first noticed it when they put up a billboard shortly after opening. They chose to advertise their burger as the best on the block. An obvious shot at Small Cheval down the street. The #NAHCHEVAL hashtag made it obvious they had an opinion on the matter. Well they're opinion is one I share. Not only is this griddle smashed burger with special sauce the best on the block it's one of the best in all of Chicago and it's found at a pizza parlor.

'80s nostalgia meets refined New York-style slices at The Stop Along in Bucktown

Worth a trip: Some Kind of Wonderful pizza ($13-$21) at The Stop Along 1812 N. Milwaukee Ave. 773-394-4694 There was a time when Camaros were bitchin' and neon was a primary color. If you didn't live through that era, maybe you've seen the movie "Hot Tub Time Machine."

The StopAlong Is Perfect for a Chill Pizza-and-Beer Night

The StopAlong Is Perfect for a Chill Pizza-and-Beer Night What more do you need? October 31, 2016, 3:10 pm The StopAlong (1812 N. Milwaukee Ave., Bucktown) is small, that's for sure. But this pizza-and-beer joint nestled along the 606 trail is mighty, too.
